SSC JE 2025 – 6 Simple Things You Should Know
- What it is
- The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the 2025 notification for the Junior Engineer (JE) exam.
- There are around 1,340 openings for Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineers in central government departments.
- Salary & Perks
- New recruits join at Level-6, with a basic pay of ₹35,400–₹1,12,400.
- On top of that, you get allowances like DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA, TA, plus benefits under NPS and medical coverage.
- Who can apply?
- Eligible candidates must have an engineering degree or diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical (as required by each department).
- Age limit is mostly between 18 and 30 years, with some posts allowing up to 32. Relaxations are applicable for reserved categories.
- Important Dates
- Applications open: June 30, 2025
- Deadline: July 21, 2025 (fee payment allowed till July 22).
- Exam dates (tentative):
- Paper I (CBE): October 27–31, 2025
- Paper II (CBE): Jan–Feb, 2026.
- How to apply
- Visit the SSC website and register (or log in).
- Find “Junior Engineer Examination 2025” under live exams.
- Fill the form, upload photo/signature, and pay fee (₹100 for General/OBC; others exempt).
- Submit and print the form.
- Selection Process
- Paper I: Multiple-choice questions in General Intelligence, General Awareness, and basic Engineering.
- Paper II: Discipline-specific (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) objective test.
